onboarding

The onboarding process is one of the key stages in the People Department. We care to prepare a new employee for effective operation within the company. Extended onboarding helps new employees better understand the company’s culture and our values. It makes it easier for them to integrate with the team and adjust to the company’s expectations.

We believe that the onboarding process helps build relationships with other team members, so that our employees can better communicate and collaborate with each other. Effective onboarding is also about building a positive company image, so we attract the best candidates.

Onboarding step by step.

1. Accepted job offer. As soon as the candidates accept our job offers, we maintain constant contact with them to guide the new employees through each step of the onboarding process. All questions are welcome. We try to provide comprehensive information so that the new employee has as little uncertainty as possible.

2. Documentation and Compliance. We want to ensure all necessary paperwork, such as tax forms and employment contracts are completed before the start date. We try to digitize and automate as many formalities as possible.

3. Pre-start communication. We do our best to make sure that the new employee knows exactly what the onboarding process looks like at Speednet. Who is the point of contact at Speednet, who will lead the orientation session, and what the next steps are.

4. Welcome and orientation session. We like to celebrate the first day at Speednet. New employees receive a warm welcome, a welcome pack filled with a ”Speedwear” and an orientation session where we present the company’s mission, values, culture, an overview of policies, procedures and employee benefits and wellness.

5. Workspace setup. Our Tech Support Team provides our newbies with necessary equipment, access to systems, and setting up the physical workspace. If the employee intends to work from the office or hybrid, a prepared workplace is already waiting.

6. Introduction to the Team. We are committed to ensuring that new employees can feel like full-fledged and productive members of the team as soon as possible. From day one, we foster an environment of openness and collaboration, where newcomers are encouraged to engage with their colleagues and contribute their ideas.

7. Ongoing support. To increase employee job satisfaction, improve employee engagement, and enhance performance, our project managers and delivery managers regularly meet with employees. So that they can address any questions or concerns, and receive feedback on performance and progress.

8. Follow-up meeting. After the three-month trial period, the People Department sets up a follow-up meeting to ensure the new employee has acclimated to the company, feels good about the project, and has already established a bond of trust with the teammates.

Why is the onboarding process so important to us?

The answer is simple – we care about people and relationships!

We know that the first day at a new company can be stressful. So we do our best to make sure every new team member feels taken care of and can quickly get a feel for our vibe.

We aim for a relaxed yet informative atmosphere. We provide all the necessary organizational details and answer any “what, where, and how” questions.

Whether the new employee is from the Tri-City area or not, we strongly prefer the first day to be in-person at our Gdańsk office. For us, it’s not just about formalities – it’s also a chance to get to know each other.

A successful onboarding process is key to setting new employees up for success. It goes beyond initial introductions to create a welcoming environment that supports continuous growth and connection with the team. At the People Department, we prioritize the onboarding process, because we believe it not only improves individual performance but also enhances the overall company culture.
